Has anyone ever had their mom or grandma scold you for the music you were listening to. Saying something to the effect of - "You keep listening to that and that is what you will become." Your grandma was right.

Less is more

We are constantly bombarded with messages. If a company can capture the attention of the American consumer, it will very quickly turn a profit for the company. Billions of dollars are spent marketing (sending messages) to us whether we are at home, driving down the road, out to eat, etc. Many of these messages push us to want more, and more, and more even if it means our financial health becomes less, and less, and less.

These messages come to us from a variety of mediums - what we read, listen to, watch, or even what we tell ourselves. In order to change your financial behavior from harmful to helpful, take control of the messages you are consuming. Consider reading Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover or listening to the FaithFi podcast as first steps.

Your brain will process thousands of messages today and those messages do slowly impact the shape of your life. Be intentional about the messages you are consuming.
